Who? Me! Maria!

 

 If it comes to describing yourself one of the biggest difficulties is to not describe the person you want to be but the person that you really are.
So I tried my very best to put all my personality into these lines:

I am Maria , a twenty year old girl from Munich/Germany. I love to hang out with my friends and go out for sports, parties and all kinds of events... but I also enjoy spending a quiet afternoon in my flat just thinking about anything that comes into my mind. Even if I am a very calm and temperate person, if I am convinced of something nothing can stop me. Always having a goal is really important for me, because otherwise I find myself sitting at home demotivated and lazy. That's also a reason why -although I loved the idea of going abroad- taking a gap year had never been an option for me, I wanted to dive into the "real world" right away.

After graduating I was literally shoved into my studies. It was an overnight decision and I still don't know why exactly I chose to study Sinology. I didn't know anything about China and frankly the main reason was that the thought of learning another european language just bored me. I wanted something different.
And here I am now: Definetely doing something different!! In a few weeks i will have completed my 4th semester at the LMU in Munich, studying Sinology and Oriental studies.After almost two years now I can definetly say that I found something where I can put my heart into. Learning about different cultures, religions and political structures has broadened my horizons and taught me that being tolerante and open minded takes a lot more than just not havig prejudices against someone.
